Ok, before I begin I just want everyone to know that I consider myself a fairly clean person... so, just for the record I DO clean my house, I do take showers, etc. ... but you probably wouldn't think so after reading this little story.
So, today while Harper was napping I decided to tackle cleaning our bathrooms. No biggie, really, but while cleaning our bathroom sink I remembered that over the past few months while I had been washing my face or brushing my teeth I had been smelling a weird odor that seemed to be coming from the depths of my sink. I had occasionally poured Drano down it thinking it was just a "clogged-up" smell... or even that the tap water was giving off a smell.. couldn't figure it out. Well, I found the smell alright!
I pulled out the stopper from the sink and found a layer of sludge all over it and then I decided to run my finger along the inside of the bellows of the down pipe... GROSS!!! Thank goodness I was wearing gloves!!!! Yes, more blackish sludge!!! Horrified that I had let my sink get this nasty I found an old toothbrush and frantically started gettin after it! I scrubbed and brushed everything I could reach with that ol' toothbrush!
Well, hopefully that was the culprit of the stinky odor and so the moral of this story... have an old toothbrush handy... cause you might not know WHAT you've gotta clean with it! (Just remember NOT to use it on your teeth afterwards! -HA!)
